Celebrate the Little Things

Who knew that writing could be so... DAUNTING. I feel like I used to do it all of the time, and now I sit at the computer and nothing comes out. Perhaps it's like learning a foreign language - if you don't use it, you lose it. As you can tell from past post dates, February was a bust, and March is not starting off particularly strong. But we'll get there, I promise.

I guess it's not all doom-and-gloom, though. Actually, with all of the new initiatives that have started around the community this year, this is the one that has struggled the most. Others have actually been going pretty well!

Along with this blog, we also kickstarted Caturdays which has now been consistently running for TEN WEEKS. Crazy! Hopefully it will get me taking more pictures as well - the camera has now at least moved from the closet to the middle of my living room. Baby steps. Also celebrating ten weeks is Skyrim Sundays, our cozy little Sunday hangout where after 13 years I decide to finally start the game and indulge in all of the distractions. It may be 10 days in, but I still have no idea what's going on. Last week we learned to fish, so I guess there's that!

Thanks to likeminded individuals within the community, we started not one, but TWO anime nights in Discord! It's nice to get back to things you used to love and then stopped making time for. Every Saturday night we watch two episodes of (currently) Black Butler and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and then on Sundays after stream we settle in for an anime movie selected from our community-curated list! It's been a wild ride so far, and it's been great to explore (and rediscover) some fantastic titles.

As if that wasn't enough, the Biblio-Teki Book Club officially launched this month! Apparently we're all bibliophiles around here, and this month we're starting strong with Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. We're closing in on halfway through the book this week, and it's been good so far! It's nice to see some focused discussion and people enjoying talking about the book as we go.

You know, once I write it all out like that... I guess it's okay that this blog has been a little slow to gain traction! We've clearly been busy around here for the past few weeks, including maintaining a consistant stream schedule! Did I mention that we're about to finish our FIFTH game of the year this week? I think I've cleared more games off my backlog in the past ten weeks than I ever have before.

Well I should probably stop rambling or I'm going to disprove my point about not being able to write. I do have an idea for Friday's post already, all I need to do is make sure I carve out some time to put my butt in a chair and get it on here. In the meantime, take care!

Many hearts, love your faces,
~ Z
