It's a Hard Knock Life

Have you ever had one of those weeks where it seems to be all clouds and no silver linings? And no, I'm not talking about everyone's favourite brooding Ex-SOLIDER. We're talking "all news is bad news" kind of a week. It can be a real emotional drain, especially when you're not sure how to process it all. It also doesn't help that we're in the bleak of winter as well, so short days and crappy weather doesn't make it easier, either
I've been trying to find ways to stay positive in times such as this. Sometimes you have to find your own nuggets of joy, or start sewing your own silver linings. They don't always have to be big things, but even the smallest things can spark joy when the chips are down. Given that we like all things gaming and pop culture around here, let's take a look at some things that happened this week that may help turn things around!
Numero uno! My mom sent me mail this week, and it was the kind of unsolicited pick-me-up that was warranted. I got an awesome Snoopy decal for my car, and a Snoopy and Woodstock POP vinyl (from A Charlie Brown Christmas)! I may post pictures of them later in discord, but my love of Snoopy knows no bounds, so they make me all warm and fuzzy inside. I might get in trouble for acquiring a new POP vinyl (although it's the first new one in YEARS), but if it's a gift it doesn't count... right?
One of my favourite places to waste time (and money), is the dollar store. You never know what kind of gems you're going to find there! There should be a warning about never going to the dollar store while you're slightly depressed (kind of like the "don't go grocery shopping while you're hungry" rule), but sometimes you just find some fun stuff! This week I found some pretty awesome colouring books (Sonic the Hedgehog, Dragons, and Fantasy), as well as these awesome little fake succulent planters that I may also have to post a picture of. They sit on my desk now and they're just oh so cute.
Sometimes you just need to get out and have a change of pace/scenery, so today I went to the "cheap theater" and watched Kraven the Hunter. I was one of three people in the theater and it was quite nice! The movie... well, I enjoyed it but I have some pretty strong opinions about Sony and their treatment of the Spider-Man franchise. I think that's a rant for another day, though. Unless you ask me about it during stream on Sunday. Then you might get an earful.
In other news, today marks the launch of the Legend of Heroes: Trails of Daybreak II demos! The game doesn't launch for another three weeks, but hopefully this will keep fans busy until then. I am in no way near ready to play anything related to Daybreak, but I'm excited nonetheless. Legend of Heroes is a fantastic series, albeit not for everyone, and I'm looking forward to the release of the full game on February 14. Do you know what would be cool, though? A release date for the Trails in the Sky remake. That would make me happy. Hopefully soon.
That's enough of me rambling! I hit 349 platinum trophies this morning as I prepare to FINALLY attempt my speedrun on Stray. I know I can do it, I just have been putting it off for SOOOOOOO long. Will I hit 350 by Sunday's stream? Guess you'll have to tune in to find out! Until then, I'm going to pretend that the excessive length of this post was to make up for the absence of Tuesday's post (not that anyone actually noticed).
What are some things that improve your mood when you're down in the dumps? Since I haven't gotten a comment system on these posts yet, drop by Twitch on Sunday for Skyrim and Sadness (I kid) and share your thoughts. Oh, and new Caturday pic tomorrow!
Many hearts, love your faces,
